…a new individual! Habiba Rabiu is a Fort Hays State University student majoring in environmental geosciences with a minor in communications, hoping to pursue a career in science communication. Having lived mostly in Nigeria for the past 10 years, part of what drove her to pursue environmental geosciences is witnessing the climate and environmental changes that have drastically happened over the years that people have been left to deal with without much, if any, real guidance. Problems like wells drying up after being used for decades and growing seasons being shifted and shortened have personally affected Habiba and her loved ones. She joined the AEN because she wants to work on connecting relevant and timely research with the people who need the information and do something to help drive positive change and adaptation. Habiba mentions that this (the network) is something that she would love to be a part of.
