…a new individual! Ifeoma Malo joined the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) because she has seen, firsthand, the power of evidence to shape better outcomes for people. In her work at Clean Technology Hub, she has watched communities transform when research and data guide decisions. Policies informed by facts, rather than assumptions, do not just look good on paper; they deliver real impact: new markets open, investments take root, and families gain access to opportunities that they once felt were out of reach.
Too often, development efforts fail because evidence is missing at the start. That is why the AEN resonates deeply with her. It is more than a network; it is a movement bringing together people across Africa who believe that decisions should be driven by what works.
By joining, she hopes to contribute insights from the renewable energy space, particularly around expanding energy access through distributed solutions, while also learning from others across health, education, governance, and other sectors where evidence has saved lives and shaped futures.
For her, AEN membership is about cooperation and being heard, too. She trusts the Network in its commitment to elevating the voice of Africa and to marrying domestic knowledge and international research. That balance will grow sustainably and inclusively for the continent.
In the end, she came to AEN to continue closing the research-practice gap. Her mission is straightforward: to assist in making decisions throughout Africa informed by evidence, so that development is not merely lofty but also responsible, measurable, and equitable.
