Evidence 2023 online programme slot: Day 2, Slot 6: 15:30-16:15

Education.org launched International Working Group (IWG) in June 2023. This is a bridge-building effort, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders in the evidence ecosystems to help expand the types of evidence and voices available to decision-makers and add to those published through academic and commercial channels. The IWG is developing a guidance to ensure that grey literature in education is easier to identify, access, and to use to overcome challenges including the following:

  1. Financial and other resources are being spent on policies and practices that are not evidence informed.
  2. Insufficient in surfacing relevant evidence – much of it in unpublished reports – to bear on decision-making.
  3. Grey literature is routinely undervalued, yet often contains nuggets of valuable insights.
  4. Context must be raised as a critical factor in determining the quality and relevance of evidence.
