Africa Evidence Week 2021 event: Taking Evidence to French Speakers in Middle Africa through the Africa Evidence Network

*All times listed are in GMT

The French speaking community in Africa is in a dark corridor of knowledge. Most research conducted in French speaking Africa will be published in English without any corresponding French translations. The problem with this is that the evidence in the end is not available to those who are concerned and who gave their time to participatein the studies. This is unfair. In order to ameliorate this situation and stimulate the French speaking community to get more engaged in the evidence ecosystem, eBASE Africa is working with AEN to organize an all-French speaking session at Africa EvidenceWeek (AfEW) 2021.

The objective of the webinar is to increase access to research evidence for French speaking Africa policymakers, practitioners, and citizens.Through this webinar, eBASE Africa aims to:

  • Increase participation of French speaking researchers, policymakers, and citizens within the AEN
  • Increase awareness of the need for consideration of language in research publications
  • Increased effectiveness of policy and practice
