Africa Evidence Week 2021 event: Emerging technologies to support ecosystem activities for evidence use

*All times listed here are in GMT

Practice of EIDM concerns itself with amplifying opportunities for improved use of evidence (data, research, practice-informed and citizen knowledge) in decision making processes. With the complex nature of decision making, particularly for public policies, a wide array of organisations are involved through their varied activities to ensure that the most benefits accrue from these processes. This ecosystem can therefore be broadly represented as an interaction among 3 main categories of actors – producers, users and intermediary actors (mostly funding and providing support services to the other 2).

This session focuses on navigating and evaluating emerging (information) technologies that are potentially useful to support activities by these different actors. The presentation will include mechanisms for deploying such technologies, as well as constraints and opportunities within African-country contexts to achieve successes in such ventures. As such, participation is expected from the wide spectrum of ecosystem actors.
