The Africa Evidence Network hosted a webinar on 30 October 2024 entitled: “EIDM Processes: Seeking Transformation for Improved Impacts.”
We had the pleasure of hosting our knowledgeable speakers, who shared perspectives on how to streamline EIDM processes relating to evidence producers, intermediaries and users; identify potential transformations within these processes and connect processes to impacts.
- Firmaye Bogale – Ethiopian Public Health Institute; EPHI (Ethiopia)
- Dr Harsha Dayal – Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; DPME (South Africa)
- Prof Vhumani Magezi – ACMERET Solutions (South Africa)
- Ronald Munatsi – Zimbabwe Evidence Informed Policy Network; ZeipNET (Zimbabwe)
- Dr Justina Onumah – CSIR-Science and Technology Policy Research Institute; STEPRI (Ghana)
The speakers shared:
- Their perceptions of EIDM processes from the standpoint of evidence producers, brokers, or users.
- Some of their experiences of EIDM processes as evidence producers, brokers, or users.
- On the gaps in EIDM processes where capacity development interventions should target.
- Implications of the viewpoints, experiences and capacity gaps in revising the AEN Manifesto on capacity development for EIDM in Africa and keeping it useful for our EIDM work and the AEN community.
The session was moderated by Kirchuffs Atengble, the research team lead at PACKS Africa and chaired by Siziwe Ngcwabe, the Director and Co-chair of the Africa Evidence Network.
