One of the evaluation topics that has attracted a lot of attention is evaluation use largely due to the increasing acknowledgement of the critical importance of evaluation in evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) in policymaking, programs development, and projects planning and management. Significant strides have been made by both state and non-state actors globally to strengthen the supply and demand for evaluation. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement in use of evaluations. A number of approaches have been employed on the demand side to enhance use of evaluations and on the supply side to strengthen utility of evaluations.
This presentation will focus on comparative analysis of Kenya and global evaluation practitioners’ ways of developing and presenting evaluation findings, conclusions, and recommendations in ways that are useful for the intended users of the evaluation, and supporting use of evaluations.
The comparative analysis is based on the Rainbow Framework’s 7th cluster - reporting and supporting use of findings and the 5 tasks of identifying reporting requirements, developing reporting media, ensuring accessibility, developing recommendations, and supporting use. Areas of strengths and opportunities for applications of the 5 tasks to support evaluation use will be presented followed by an engaging discussion and experience sharing.
