MANIFESTO ON CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT FOR EIDM IN AFRICA

As one of the outputs collectively worked on during EVIDENCE 2020 ONLINE, the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) Manifesto on Capacity Development for Evidence-Informed Decision-Making in Africa represents a declaration by all from Africa's evidence ecosystem about the kind of capacity development we practice. The Manifesto owes its existence to the AEN working group members, who prepared the draft manifesto ahead of EVIDENCE 2020 ONLINE, where AEN members illuminated on the ideas in the document with case study presentations, discussions, and comments during working sessions of the event. Further contributions were invited and received from AEN members via the AEN newsletter of December 2020. We proudly host the Manifesto on Capacity Development for EIDM in Africa here at the AEN's EIDM hub. This document promises to be an African-led approach to enhancing capacities for EIDM in Africa, to serve as a resource and inspiration to the evidence ecosystem in the continent, and to challenge mainstream views on capacity-building for EIDM in Africa.
