Vacancy: Global Parenting Initiative programme manager

The Department of Social Policy & Intervention is looking to appoint an experienced Programme Manager to work on our flagship Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). The GPI is a multi-million-pound five-year project with a vision that is bold, ambitious, immediate: to provide access to free, evidence-based, playful parenting support to every parent, everywhere, so that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to help their children realise their learning potential. You will lead on the coordination of the Global Parenting Initiative’s activities and deliverables across the GPI themes and hold responsibility for ensuring the efficient functioning of the Initiative’s governance structure across partners and in collaboration with the South-Africa based team at the University of Cape Town. Funds supporting this project are provided by the Oak and LEGO Foundations. You are a highly experienced management professional with demonstrable experience in planning and delivering complex multi-partner projects and/or programmes on an international level. You have a background in leading project finance and administration activities in compliance with major research funding bodies. You have excellent intercultural communication skills and experience in building collaborative relationships. You have strong presentation skills and experience sharing project outcomes and research findings effectively to governments, INGOs, policymakers as well as academic audiences. A keen interest in and experience in improving outcomes for vulnerable children, adolescents, and youth in low- and middle-income countries is desirable. The GPI Programme Manager holds a core leadership position within the management team and provides an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, international team, dedicated to improving the lives of children across the globe.
