AEN January 2017 newsletter

This edition highlights the World Economic Forum annual meeting that took place in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland on 17-20 January 2017. The latest AEN Blog showcases a series of 25 maps on the evidence-informed decision-making landscape in Africa. In addition to our newsletter, this month our colleagues the research team from the Department for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) in South Africa, in partnership with UJ-BCURE, is happy to share with you an attached Guidance Note titled: “Policy Relevant Evidence Maps – a Departmental Guidance Note”. This is the product of a nine-month pilot project of co-producing an evidence map on housing, human settlements and the built environment. It seeks to capture the process of transformation from a research synthesis methodology into a decision-making tool for the public sector. It also contains detailed reflections and insights gained from developing and using the tool for decision-making and policy influence.
