There has been a growing recognition and investment towards initiatives that support Evidence Informed Decision Making and Implementation. However, there is no clear evidence that these initiatives do in fact contribute towards an increased use of evidence and subsequent improved development results; in terms of reducing inequality and poverty in Africa. This is because most initiative only measure the use of evidence, not whether this use is translated into policies that contribute towards improved development results, furthermore, evidence use measures are too diverse to compare and pool to identify effects meaningfully. This project therefore aimed to understand what measurements are used to assess the impact of initiatives to support EIDM. We collated available evidence on how to measure the impact of EIDM initiatives an mapped the evidence base.
