Our work

We inform and advocate

The AEN informs to ensure the community stays up to date with the developments that are most relevant to evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across Africa and beyond. We inform our EIDM community by searching for and sharing the best and latest EIDM practices and developments from across the globe. Advocating with the AEN is about celebrating the incredibly diverse and unique nature of African EIDM by making it a priority to showcase African EIDM across the continent and globe. Advocacy for EIDM aims to raise awareness of and familiarity with EIDM across a range of African audiences. We share blog posts, the evidence matter series, the AEN Podcast, multiple evidence marketing campaigns, a range of multimedia content, monthly newsletters, and social media activities.

AEN Blogs

The AEN blog provides members with an opportunity to share their professional experience and showcase the work of their institutions. Our blog platform is one of the ways we use to achieve the goal of supporting, engaging, educating, and gaining knowledge from every individual within the African evidence ecosystem. Evidence Matters

In our Evidence Matters series, we speak with members of this ecosystem about the changes they’ve affected with their EIDM efforts and the lessons they’ve learned in doing so. The African evidence ecosystem’s action stories on successful EIDM are enjoyable to read.

Please browse through our inspiring Evidence Matters stories to learn more.

AEN Podcast

Great strides have been made in Africa to advance EIDM in government and other sectors. This ranges from efforts made to capacitate decision-makers, to the institutionalisation of EIDM within the policy-making cycle. The AENPodcast: “Welcome to the African Evidence Ecosystem” was launched in 2023 to cast a light on the African evidence ecosystem, with a specific focus on the history, progress, pitfalls, and the future.
