On Tuesday 19 August, the Pan-African Collective for Evidence (PACE) hosted a dynamic webinar exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping evidence brokering across Africa. Drawing on real-world experiences and recent innovations, this session highlighted key lessons learned, emerging tools, and the implications of AI for strengthening evidence-informed decision-making. Experts from across the continent shared insights into responsible AI use, opportunities for enhanced collaboration, and the practical realities of integrating AI into evidence ecosystems.

Firmaye Bogale framed the webinar and provided insights from tool piloting in Ethiopia. Harsha Dayal shared lessons from piloting,  usage and practicality of the tools in the South African context. Dabesa Gobena shared lessons from piloting,  usage and practicality of the tools in the Ethiopian context. Edward Kayongo and Paulinah Teffu shared lessons learnt from developing the tools. Laurenz Mahlanza-Langer provided high-level reflections from the webinar, integrating discussions during the Q&A and closing remarks.
