…a new individual! Fumane Lekoala joined the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) because she would like to connect with others in the network, learn from the community, and contribute to shared efforts around evidence-informed development across the continent. As Head of Evidence Partnership for HPV at the Future Evidence Foundation, she is deeply committed to advancing equity-driven, evidence-informed public health systems in Africa. Her work focuses on building the HPV Evidence Partnership, a multi-country initiative supporting low- and middle-income countries to strengthen HPV vaccine delivery and adolescent health integration through timely evidence.

Fumane is drawn to the AEN due to its mission alignment with her professional values, including locally led evidence initiatives, cross-context learning, and inclusive platforms that centre African expertise. She believes communities of practice like AEN are crucial for peer exchange, collaboration, and developing evidence leaders.

She hopes to engage with AEN members working on immunisation, health systems, and adolescent health, sharing insights from the HPV Evidence Partnership and contributing to discussions on implementation research, participatory methods, and knowledge brokering. She’s passionate about strengthening gender-responsive and youth-inclusive evidence ecosystems, looking forward to learning from others and contributing to AEN’s mission to reshape evidence’s role in Africa’s development.
