Hello, Bonjour, Olá!
Across Africa, we are rooted in the power of convening and finding opportunities to come together as a community “beneath the Baobab tree”. This often provides a space for knowledge sharing, evidence generation and collective efforts at problem-solving, and this continues to hold true across the African ecosystem. As we replace Baobab trees with conference centres, and fireside chats with breakout sessions, we have built a network that has showcased inspiring examples of how evidence can influence policy, improve programs and support better outcomes for communities. We are guided by our efforts to be evidence champions for greater impact across African communities, and with that guidance comes the responsibility to ensure that our convenings hold value beyond workshops and events, and that we can adequately measure, outline and shape the African evidence journey for greater impact. This month, we see the embodiment of the convening of a rich ecosystem represented at the Evidence 2 Action Conference in Accra, Ghana, as well as how the Centre for African Bio-Entrepreneurship (CABE) is turning research into action through agriculture in Africa. As always, we are keen to meet the evidence changemakers Mulenga Ching’ambo and rising evidence leaders championing evidence across the continent through innovative and exciting ways!
