
…a new individual! Prof Michael Donovan is a Director of International Partnerships at the Pennsylvania State University. He joined the AEN because he would love to be more connected to the Network after recently attending the Transforming Evidence Network (TEN) conference in Cape Town. He mentions that much of his work involves effective decision-making utilising a rigorous evidence base – so evidence-based or evidence-informed decision-making in varied contexts, among a variety of other topics. Another area is building partnerships between the academy and external partners in government, industry, NGO, etc. Yet another area is around “public interest research” – a burgeoning movement emphasising community-engaged scholarship that seeks to address real-world challenges while further establishing the value of higher education to society.
