…a new individual! Nana Ama Boa-Amponsem recently joined the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) because she’s excited about learning and growing at the intersection of practice, policy, and research. As a practitioner and emerging researcher working in education and development, Nana Ama is interested in how evidence can shape better, more contextually grounded decisions, whether in policymaking, program design, or strategy. She mentions that AEN feels like the right space to explore this curiosity alongside others who work around evidence-informed change across Africa.
Nana Ama appreciates the Network’s breadth and diversity, and how it brings together people from different sectors and disciplines who are all trying to make sense of how evidence can drive better outcomes. For her, joining AEN is also about finding a community to learn from, to understand how evidence is generated and utilised, and to grow and develop her own research agenda that connects to her practice in the education sector.
Nana Ama is also starting a project that spotlights African contributors to evidence in education and development on the continent, speaking with researchers who are leading the way in understanding what evidence means in their contexts. Through AEN, she hopes to connect with and learn from these voices, while also contributing in small ways to amplifying Africa’s leadership in this space.
In many ways, joining AEN is the next step in Nana Ama’s professional growth, not just as someone who appreciates evidence but as someone who wants to contribute to how it is generated, shared, and used. She’s looking forward to learning, collaborating, and growing within this community!!
