Educational research in Africa represents approximately 3% of global output. As a result, it remains largely unseen, and its evidence is poorly integrated into public policies, limiting its impact. Furthermore, Foundational Learning (FL), although essential to child development, remains largely neglected, resulting in poor educational outcomes.
To promote the visibility and strengthen the use of evidence-based education in Africa, ESSA provides innovative solutions. These include, on the one hand, the establishment of an updated database of the scientific output of African education researchers.
On the other hand, ESSA analyzes educational research themes and areas, identifies the challenges faced by stakeholders and provides solutions. This is the case, for example, in AF research, where our initiatives bring together researchers and decision-makers to identify educational and research priorities and strengthen the impact of research.
