3ie’s Remote Sensing Inventory is a practical, user-friendly resource that helps development practitioners and policymakers use satellite and remotely sensed data more effectively. It catalogs a variety of remotely sensed indicators (e.g. vegetation indices, night-time lights), provides guidance on selecting appropriate indicators, accessing geospatial data, and understanding methodological considerations. The inventory also links them to empirical studies, case examples, and tools. It’s designed as a “living public resource,” meaning it’s regularly updated and open to contributions from the community. The goal is to bridge the gap between technical potential and real-world use in development programs: https://www.3ieimpact.org/resources/remote-sensing-inventory
