…a new organisation! Mutera Global Healing has a mission to eradicate child sexual violence through prevention, healing, and justice. They are transitioning their school life skills programme by training teachers to lead and sustain its implementation. This programme is a crucial part of our prevention efforts, focusing on building resilience, enhancing communication skills, and fostering empathy among students. Additionally, teachers are equipped to support survivors of childhood sexual violence. They are confident that these trained educators are now powerful allies in the fight against childhood sexual violence. With more allies joining their cause, victory becomes increasingly certain! Mutera relies heavily on research from time out by partner organisations like Together For Girls. Together for Girls, in collaboration with the Government of Uganda and other partners, has conducted several studies to assess the prevalence and impact of child sexual violence in Uganda.

Mutera utilises a data-driven approach to track their reach and impact. They utilise reporting tools through which they quantitatively collect data on the number of individuals they have reached: health centres, schools, workshops and radio programmes. This data is analysed monthly to assess their reach and inform decision-making. Additionally, Mutera collects qualitative data through stories shared during their programmes, which helps highlight the tangible impact of their work on people’s lives. By combining quantitative and qualitative data, Mutera comprehensively understands its programmes’ effectiveness and makes data-informed decisions to optimise their work.
