The Africa Evidence Youth League meets the new Director of the Africa Evidence Network!
This month, members of the Africa Evidence Youth League (AEYL) had the opportunity to meet Lenah Kitenge, the new Director of the Africa Evidence Network (AEN), during the League’s monthly meeting.
In her remarks, Lenah welcomed the new cohort of emerging evidence leaders and reflected on the important role that young people can play in shaping Africa’s evidence ecosystem. Her message to members was clear: young evidence leaders should not only see themselves as participants in the evidence ecosystem, but as active contributors who can help shape its future.
Lenah also encouraged emerging evidence leaders to be curious, courageous and innovative and to think intentionally about how evidence can move beyond research outputs and translate into meaningful action.
As AEYL embarks on its 2026/2027 programme of activities, this message provides an important foundation for the new cohort; to connect, collaborate and innovate EIDM across the continent.
