The World Health Organisation (WHO), in collaboration with the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) and Cochrane, is launching a Community of Practice (CoP) on Citizen Engagement in Evidence-Informed Decision-Making (CE-EIDM) in the health sector. The 1st virtual meeting of the CoP took place on November 6, from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm CET. The meeting began with a presentation by Sandy Oliver, Co-Director of the Evidence for Policy & Practice Information Centre, UCL Social Research Institute, United Kingdom. Her presentation focused on “evidence-informed policy-making as an inclusive endeavour: state of the art and trending debates”. During the first meeting of the CoP: The CoP was introduced, and its objectives, participants started to develop a shared vision for the CoP and there were discussions on the next steps, including working groups and engagement platforms.
